Turriff Footwear is truly useful footwear. Our focus is on rugged comfort, ease and freedom of movement. We offer tranquility for your toes and the ability to move freely through life and the outdoors.
Turriff Footwear allows you to escape the confinements of “normal” shoes and the binds of daily life.
Get outside and move.
The concept is simple: To make good shoes that fit and perform well in a variety of settings, terrains, climates and conditions. Turriff shoes are versatile and meant to help eliminate excess. Versatile footwear that move with you through an active outdoor life. From the forest trails or through your daily routines in the city.
Function follows form. Foot function is key to the design. Our aim was to create footwear in which the foot dictated the form. As a result, our comfort fit last works for almost every type of foot.
Our shoes are made using traditional shoemaking methods allowing for easy repair and re-crafting. So you can continue wearing your shoes for years to come.
Our uppers are all leather. Leather is a durable, flexible, and natural material that breathes and moves with our bodies. Leather molds to our shape with wear and acts like a second skin.
Leather is naturally weatherproof letting us create durable outdoor footwear with out the use of synthetic waterproof liners.
Synthetic materials trap heat and moisture and break down quickly. The only synthetic materials we use are the slim 6mm EVA midsole and our rubber outsole.
The shoes were created with a minimal, barefoot inspired approach.
They are flexible, with a wide forefoot, designed to allow your feet to move naturally and spread out giving you comfort and stability. We chose to go with a slim 6mm EVA midsole to provide a balance between protection, comfort and ground feel.
For those used to barefoot shoes these will initially feel a little stiffer than synthetic, glued barefoot shoes. In order to achieve our unique style of easily repairable shoe construction a certain stiffness is required for assembly. Do not worry! With a little wear the fibres of the leather midsole soften and the shoes will become increasingly flexible, adapting to the natural movement of your foot.
